So this is it!

I can't believe that this is really happening to me and I'm going legit tonight! :))) I still can recall that night when I opened my mission call and read the words...

Dear Sister Posadas,

You are hereby called to serve as a missionary of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
You are assigned to labor in the
China Hong Kong Mission...
You should report to the Philippines Missionary Training Center on Friday, September 27, 2013...

It was just a surreal feeling and I was absolutely stunned when I saw that it was signed by the prophet, Thomas S. Monson. I was in tears the day I knew my call arrived. I just had to let it out to prepare myself in opening that  white envelope!

Here's a short video clip with family and friends when I opened my mission call last June 23, 2013.

Last Sunday, I was the speaker in my home ward, Labangon, and I was inspired to talk about Missionary Work and the Atonement by Elder Jeffrey Holland, an apostle of the Lord.

Anyone who does any kind of missionary work could ask, "Why is this so hard? Why can't our success be more rapid? Why aren't there more people joining the Church?" Missionary work is not easy because salvation is not a cheap experience. Salvation never was easy. We are in The Church of Jesus Christ, this is the truth and He is our Great Eternal Head. How could we believe it would be easy for us when it was never easy for our Savior?

Salvation isn't an easy thing for us. If you wonder if there isn't any easier way, you should remember you're not the first one to ask. Someone a lot greater and grander asked that a long time ago. When you struggle, when you are rejected, when you are spit upon and cast out, you are standing with the best life this world has ever known, the only pure and perfect life ever lived. You have reason to stand tall and be grateful that the Living Son of the Living God knows all about your sorrows and afflictions. The only way to salvation-- through Gethsemane and on to calvary. The only way to eternity is through Him-- the Way, the Truth, and the Life.

I am serving a full-time mission not because I know it's the right thing to do, not because my parents want this for me, but because through fasting, prayer, and through personal revelation, this is what He wants me to do. And I'm joining the rest of 75,000 in this great endeavor to "Invite others to come unto Christ by helping them receive the restored gospel through faith in Jesus Christ and His Atonement, repentance, baptism, receiving the gift of the Holy Ghost, and enduring to the end."

I have known and tasted of something really good. And like our usual response to something good like a new restaurant in town, we usually tell our family and friends to experience such exquisite goodness as well. I have that same kind of feeling and that something good is the gospel which I know is true. I know that the gospel of Jesus Christ is restored again. I know that Joseph Smith is a true prophet of God. He was chosen and  was an instrument in restoring the truth back to this earth once more. I know that the Book of Mormon is true, it is another testament of Jesus Christ. I know that we have a loving Father  in Heaven who gave His Only Begotten Son, to die for ALL of us that we may live again. I know that my Savior lives and that He loves us all.

I am Airi/Chuchi right now and in a few hours, I'll be Sister Posadas, and I'll be representing Jesus Christ. My thoughts, words, and deeds should reflect as He is. That is not easy, that's why missionary work isn't easy! But I will do my very best and give my all to Him. I'm so excited for this wonderful opportunity to serve in Hong Kong. I'll be preaching in the Tagalog language and I'll be meeting my fellow Filipinos there too. I know that this decision will have a great influence in my life and it will prepare me for the rest of my life.

I am so grateful for all my family and friends for all their love and support. I feel so deeply blessed. Thank you so much! Please don't forget to write to me. I love you all!:')

With all my love and prayers,
Sister Posadas
